AXA XL confirms stalwart’s comeback


Business stalwart Ian Sawyer, whose insurance coverage profession started in 1987, has rejoined AXA XL as London head of US casualty, reinsurance.

A seasoned govt with expertise spanning broking, underwriting, and claims dealing with, Sawyer will lead the insurer’s world markets US casualty group within the UK. His credentials embody time spent at BMS, Odyssey Re Group, R Okay Carvill & Co., and SiriusPoint.

The appointment marks Sawyer’s return to AXA XL, having served as XL Catlin’s head of US casualty treaty in London for practically 12 years from 2006.

“We’re delighted to welcome Ian again to the enterprise,” stated London reinsurance head Marcus Gonzales. “He brings with him a wealth of information and expertise constructed over an extended profession in long-tail reinsurance.
